My vw t5 build thread

Thought I'd do a build thread for my latest vw. I know its not aircooled but after having had splits,bays,ghias,t3's beetles etc etc I thought I'd have a modern vw, my first watercooled vw actually. :o I bought the van in april a 2.5 tdi 130 on a 55 plate, it used to be a panel van but had limo tint windows put in before I bought it.
Heres what the interior looked like when I first got it.
Image
I then striped it back to bare metal and then sound proofed and insulated it and fully ply lined it.
Image
I then fully lined the van and carpeted it out.I covered the walls, ceiling, doors, floor and tailgate etc etc with dark grey and light grey on the ceiling.

carpeted right through

Next I had a bespoke camping interior built by lightfoot in Leeds.
Image
I had a hidden smev cooker and sink fitted into the worktop and a wacco fridge fitted into the cupboards. I then bought and fitted a 3/4 rock n roll bed.
I also replaced the 3 standard front van seats with twin captains seats and have just had them recovered with red leather.
Image
Front seats gear stick gator and rear seats/bed where all covered by a local company I know.
Image
Red leather with grey piping to match the plastic.
Image
Rear of the van I wanted fully fitted cupboard here too.
Image
Swivel base fitted

So its gone from a white van to a campervan in 6 months....6 expensive months

Re: My vw t5 build thread

Some of the pics didnt work, exterior has lots of extras too like
l.e.d. rear lights
twin exhausts
alloys
clear indicators
chrome bull bar
chrome handles
chrome roof bars
chrome side bars
chrome grill
chrome mirrors

I like chrome, suppose thats from all the old aircooled vw's I've had.
Image
Also fitted thule roof bars for my kayaks, probably loads more that I have forgotten and even more I will do in the future and I will add them to this thread.

Just got to get out and use it a bit now :D Mark
