The things people have said about your car

This is following on from a vzi thread and it reminded me of some of the stupid things people have said to me while I've been driving arround in daft cars.

I once pulled up into a petrol station in my old squareback wich had porsche fuche alloys on it, I came out to find some chavy looking bloke looking round it "cool car mate.......I didnt know porsche made estate cars" he said

or

In my grey Ghia I always used to get " is this one of those James bond aston martin things then ? "..............er ... no

or

Also in my Ghia driving down the road and some one shouted........ "oi , your cars on fire !" sure enough looked in my rear view mirror to see flames comming out of the top of my air vent on the engine lid, the webber carb had been leaking fuel wich burst into flames and melted everything that wasnt metal.

The one I hated most of all though is when driving the splitty and people shout " Hippy ! " at me.......god I used to hate that

So anyone else had any funny/ stupid things said to them just because of the car they drive.

Unfortunately the most common comment I get about any of my vehicles tends to be "could do with a good clean, mate"

Re: The things people have said about your car

I used to get asked constantly what my engine was, normaly when pulling up at petrol stations.

The conversation normaly went..." Ere mate what you got in that?" ...a big beetle engine..., "oh right.. You know you could just fit a Porsche engine in it, they fit straight in"

Once it was a chav in an astra at some trafic lights, he didn't believe me so I showed him

Ha ha, yes " a porsche engine goes straight in" I've heard that a few times.

Another one I had at the mot station while up on the ramps was "wow.....why dont you get the body as shiny as the floorpan on this thing" .....mind you the bodywork was quite ratty. ;)
